Reports have been circulating in recent days about Chelsea’s ownership among the consortium of Todd Boehly, who is expected to be officially in the Stamford Bridge hotseat soon.
Most publications claim that Boehly will back Thomas Tuchel and make significant investments in the transfer funds for this summer, which is of course great news.
Todd Boehly is expected to hold talks with Thomas Tuchel before his Chelsea buy is officially signed and find out which areas of the squad he would like to strengthen. Boehly is said to be ready to make significant funds available for transfers.

This squad is in dire need of a rebuild in my opinion and that will take more than just a big signing and a few loan returns. It’s a situation that I feel has had to be addressed for a number of seasons, in my opinion, as there is still a lot of deadwood hanging around. We have to sell them and reinvest them in the squad.
But perhaps more important than the amount of money Boehly and company plan to spend this summer is who we’re spending it on. We spent £100m on a flopped striker last season who didn’t seem to suit Tuchel’s style of play at all and it mustn’t happen again. There are other examples as well.

We need to shop smart and smart, and that doesn’t always necessarily mean spending tons of money on big names. It could be more about finding the next big star before he’s even a star, which Chelsea haven’t managed to do in recent seasons.
I’m happy to hear we’ll have good tools to improve our squad but we need to make sure we recruit smart from now on and Boehly and Co are known for that so I feel like I’m in safe hands.
