Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to keep Kylian Mbappe at the club, and have devised a three-point plan to that effect, according to recent reports.

Kylian Mbappe signed Paris Saint-Germain on loan in 2017 and on a permanent deal in 2018, at which time he turned into the best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But his contract at the club is in the past few months, and the 23-year-old is seeking to move to Real Madrid, his dream club, at the end of his contract this season.

Paris Saint-Germain battled Real Madrid’s interest last season in keeping the striker and allowing him to terminate his current contract, while trying to persuade him to extend the contract. It was all for nothing as Mbappe and his entourage quietly put aside every contract offer that PSG offered them.

Madrid has also been reported to have progressed in contract discussions with Mbappe which are said to be in the €100-150m region. But in March, Mbappe was understood to be slowing down talks with Madrid.

Speaking earlier this month, the World Cup winner insisted he was in no hurry as his contract with PSG enters its final stages. “I haven’t decided my future yet,” said the 2018 Copa Cup winner.

“I’m cool. I want to take my time because I don’t want to get it wrong.

“I’m thinking about it because there are new elements – a lot of things, new standards.

“[There are] Lots of parameters to take into consideration.

“I’m trying to figure that out with my family so I can make the right decision.”

Paris Saint-Germain’s three-point plan to keep Mbappe

The Parisians picked up on Mbappe’s hesitation and made a barrage of offers to the player and his entourage, many of which included huge financial compensation.

The club offered Mbappe a €150m login bonus and a new €25m salary package minus annual bonuses. Now, they have come up with another strategy to convince the player to stay in Parc De Princes.

French news outlet Le Parisien It has been reported that the Ligue 1 giants will sell Neymar as part of his three-point strategy to keep Mbappe. this step , Le Parisien Reports, are reassuring Mbappe that he will be their talisman and main attraction in the upcoming seasons.

PSG will also sign players to build a squad around Mbappe until the 23-year-old is convinced of his sporting project. The club has already identified a number of players in connection with this vision, one of which was another target for Madrid, Aurelien Chuamini of Monaco.

Third, PSG will make Mbappe one of the team captains or may give him the captaincy immediately. This would see Marquinhos lose his authority in the squad just because Mbappe remains at the club.

It remains to be seen what level of success PSG can achieve with these plans, with Real Madrid breathing in Mbappe’s neck.
