Potential Change in Ownership Surfaces Milan Links with Four High-Profile Targets

As Milan prepare for new ownership ahead of the 2022/23 season under Bahrain’s InvestCorp, it has been revealed that a string of four names have caught the club Rossoneri‘s attention to strengthen the squad. The club is reportedly in advanced talks over a management change at American conglomerate Elliott Management.

Keeping the huge investment of around €300m that would follow the change of ownership, the seven-time European champions have already set four main goals to change the face of the club.

The most interesting name is that of Ajax star striker Sebastian Haller as Milan remain interested in signing an established striker to replace veterans Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has 33 goals and 9 assists in 38 caps for Ajax this season, but it’s not in the Eredivisie where he has shone the most.

Despite being eliminated by Portuguese giants SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, the former West Ham United striker is still among the top three goalscorers in continental competition with 11 goals from 8 games this season, just behind the two currently best center forwards in the game – Karim Benzema (12) and Robert Lewandowski (13).

Another potential target is RB Leipzig winger Christopher Nkunku, who has taken the Bundesliga by storm this season. The 24-year-old France international has scored 30 goals in 44 appearances for the east German club in all competitions.

Highly-rated Roma striker Nicolo Zaniolo is also being linked with a move to Milan but it’s Juventus who are said to have made the first contact with Milan Giallorossi for a summer move.

Last but not least, Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is another summer transfer candidate as he broke through for the southern French club in the 2020/21 season. The addition of Tchouameni would mean finding a direct replacement for Franck Kessie who joins Barcelona. However, several top clubs including Manchester United have emerged as contenders for the 22-year-old France international.
