Juventus loanee Nicolò Fagioli helped Cremonese to historic Serie A promotion: “After beating Como we stayed up until 5 in the morning. An unexpected turn of events given the standings before the last matchday. We always believed in it and were rewarded in the end. The goal against Gianluigi Buffon was unforgettable. He congratulated me after the game.”

“Federico Chiesa and Alvaro Morata were the first to approach me. I dream of returning to the Bianconeri as now I feel ready. However, I don’t know my future yet, nor Morata’s. I want to enjoy this win and then I will have time to talk to management and my agents.”

Fagioli praised Juventus’ U-23 project TuttoSport: “It’s great and I hope they win the Serie C playoffs. Fabio Miretti and I grew up together and it would be fantastic to share the dressing room with him. Seeing him in the eleven was a great sign for all the youngsters. Growing starts with the right mentality. You have to be on point every day to achieve important goals. This year was very formative for me because I played alongside several veterans. It was another step after playing with the second team.”

The midfielder named his role model: “My idol is Luka Modric, but I don’t have his long ball. He has unique touches. I want to get close to him. If I met him, I would ask him how he manages to be hungry. I can play in several positions in midfield. I’m great at Cremonese but it’s not just up to me to stay. Fabio Pecchia is an excellent coach and trusted me. I appreciate him very much.
