Former Fiorentina head coach Cesare Prandelli has offered advice to under-fire Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on his current form woes. The Serbia international left Artemio Franchi to link up with the record Italian champions in a mega-money deal worth €70m during the January transfer window.
After a brilliant start to his new adventure in Turin, Vlahovic has suffered a loss of form. The 22-year-old is currently going through a three-game losing streak in Serie A. Adding to his recent departure, the Serb has already earned a reputation as a ‘diver’.
Prandelli, who got Vlahovic a starting place at Fiorentina before stepping down as viola coach in March 2021, has fond memories of the duo’s good times in Florence. The highly-rated striker enjoyed a rise at Artemio Franchi but something went wrong at Juventus.
Prandelli tried to defend his ex-pupil’s fight at the Allianz Stadium despite insisting Vlahovic could not solve Juventus’ problems on his own.
“Arriving at Juventus in the January market, he inevitably felt a great deal of responsibility because so much was expected of him.‘ he said, as passed on TUTTOmercato WEB.
“And paradoxically, the fact that he started at the top and scored a lot of goals straight away put him in a state where people thought he could solve Juventus’ problems all by himself right away.
Prandelli also urged the Juventus number 7 to keep a cool head and wait for his moment to shine again.
“I can only advise him to keep calm, also because he is a real champion, so he will score a lot of goals.“
